Job summary

Buffalo Lodging Associates is seeking a Chief Engineer for the Hampton Inn by Hilton in South Plainfield, NJ. You will own maintenance of the property while upholding the company culture of Excellence, Passion, Integrity, and Inclusion.

Responsibilities include routine preventive maintenance on laundry, HVAC, plumbing and safety systems; managing work orders; selecting vendors; and supervising the Maintenance Assistant on site. A background in hotel maintenance is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of supervisory or lead mechanic experience in a hotel or related field.
• Demonstrated general mechanical skills.
• Basic repair, painting, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operation and pool maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe and appealing property by performing routine preventative maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Maintain work order boards and follow up on status of requests.
• Evaluate and select reliable vendors providing good value.
• Supervise Maintenance Assistant on site including hiring, training and performance management.
