Job summary

Embassy Suites by Hilton in Charlotte, NC invites qualified cooks to join our banquet kitchen. This full-time role requires flexibility to work events, including weekends, and a commitment to service excellence.

Responsibilities include preparing dishes per recipes and standards, reviewing event BEO, maintaining cleanliness and food safety, knowing the menu, stocking stations, inspecting plated items, and handling food properly. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as cook.
• Previous catering or banquet experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
• A team player with good communication skills.
• Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Training from a culinary school will be an asset.

TheEmbassy Suites by Hilton, located near theCharlotte Airport, is currently hiring for afull-time Banquet Cook. The person hired for this position will need flexibility to work varying hours, depending on scheduled events; weekday and weekend availability is required.

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability.

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees in this position work primarily indoors. To perform the job successfully the candidate must possess manual dexterity, must be able to stand for long periods of time, have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, bend, stretch, twist, or reach out, and operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
