Job summary

Chicago Marriott Suites O'Hare in Des Plaines, IL seeks an Accounting Manager to support the Controller and Assistant Controller in maintaining internal controls and ensuring timely reporting across hotel operations.

This role will lead monthly forecasts, prepare month-end and tax reporting packages, oversee bank reconciliations, and coordinate cash handling while training hotel staff on financial procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have strong knowledge of internal controls and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience with monthly forecasting and close processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly forecasts, including quarterly reforecasts for owners.
• Review monthly financial statements with General Managers and property managers.
• Assist in monthly forecasting and produce month-end reports and tax packages.
• Coordinate bank reconciliations, treasury reports, and cash handling procedures.
• Assist the corporate accounting team with audit recommendations and implementations.
• Perform monthly journal entries and account reconciliations; manage cost controls.
• Oversee inventory counts, postings, and period-end close processes.
