Waste Pro North Carolina is hiring highly skilled Diesel Technician B's! Qualified candidates will be eligible for up to a $5,000 retention bonus.

Position Summary

Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components, and systems related to heavy and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems. May involve welding and fabrication.

Essential Job Functions

1. Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs to ensure safe and efficient operations, including DVIR and repair orders.
2. Communicate with managers and drivers about vehicle issues and preventive techniques.
3. Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly.
4. Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean work environment.
5. Use vehicle electronics to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
6. Conduct safety checks and repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
7. Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems diagnosis and repair.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and interpreting service manuals.
• Ability to estimate repair times and materials.
• Experience guiding Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers.
• CDL Class B preferred within 12 months; no CDL required initially.

Other Responsibilities

Attend training courses, stay updated on current technology, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds, work in extreme temperatures, and perform physical tasks frequently, including bending, reaching, twisting, and working in various weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities.
