Job summary

Skana Aluminum Company in Manitowoc, WI seeks a Hot Mill Technician on 1st shift. This hands-on role supports continuous hot mill operations, ensuring coils meet specs and production stays on track.

You will rotate between Hot Mill Operator and Upcoiler tasks, perform preventive maintenance, operate a forklift, and help maintain a clean, safe workspace while contributing to quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operation experience preferred.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Flexibility with scheduling and cross-training.
• Safety-first mindset with organized workspace.
• Prior manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the mill to reduce aluminum coils to specifications.
• Prepare coils for finishing at Upcoiler.
• Cut and prepare slabs using overhead cranes and saws.
• Coil, band and label finished coils for storage.
• Inspect coils and metal for defects and report concerns.
• Assist with roll changes, coolant tank cleaning, and general maintenance.
• Perform preventive maintenance on mill equipment.
• Complete shop paperwork and daily production tracking.
• Operate a forklift to store finished coils.
