Steel Dynamics seeks an Electrical Technician to perform electrical and electronic repair and periodic maintenance on equipment at our Columbus, MS facilities.

You will maintain electrical devices, implement upgrades to improve productivity and reliability, and coordinate cross-shift communications and projects within the maintenance team.

• Coordinate and implement project work.
• Strong understanding of the TCOS Program.
• Understanding of mathematics (geometry, trigonometry).
• Understanding of electrical safety practices.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize with production needs.
• Ability to manage multiple projects from start to finish.
• Understanding of industrial network and communication protocols.
• Understanding of variable frequency drives.
• Strong electrical knowledge of high and low-voltage systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, breakers and power distribution, motors, motor control equipment, instrumentation, and PLCs.
• Available any time day or night to take calls and assist with mill issues.
• Ability to teach and develop electrical technicians.
• Advanced PC and software proficiency.
• Preferred: Electrical maintenance experience in an industry setting.
