Job summary

AAF International is seeking a Hot Melt Machine Operator to setup, operate, and monitor pleating and/or filter assembly equipment for filtration products. You will ensure quality, safety, and production targets are met in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Responsibilities include adjusting machine parameters, loading materials, inspecting outputs, performing routine maintenance, and recording production data. Experience with pleating/ automated equipment and ERP systems is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1-3 years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with pleating or automated assembly equipment preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and product specifications.
• Basic math and measurement skills.

• Load raw materials including filter media, frames, and adhesives.
• Inspect pleats, bonds, and finished filters for defects, uniformity, and dimensional accuracy.
• Identify and segregate non-conforming materials in accordance with quality procedures.
• Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical or process issues and elevate as needed.
• Accurately complete production records, work orders, and equipment logs.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and work instructions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, waste reduction).
• Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and production teams to meet daily output goals.

This role ensures products are manufactured to specification while meeting quality standards, safety requirements, and production targets.

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing facility producing filtration products
• Exposure to filter media, adhesives, and production equipment
• Required use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.)

Preferred Experience

• Experience operating hot melt or similar pleating/mini-pleat equipment
• Background in air filtration manufacturing
• Familiarity with production tracking systems (ERP)
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
