Qualifications

Description

The Hot Cook prepares food items under the direction of the Cafe manager.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Uses oven and stove to prepare food.
2. Cleans produce.
3. Prepares food (soups, salads, desserts, beverages, etc.) to specifications within a specified time limit.
4. Follows food and knife safety procedures.
5. Assists with receiving deliveries and ingredients, stocks ingredients, and rotates products.
6. Performs deep cleaning.
7. Tracks waste items and maintains specified food portions.
8. Familiarizes with current and new recipes.
9. Uses recipe builders and specifications to ensure product consistency.

Secondary Functions

Custodial duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent, or in pursuit of same.
• Ability to complete CBC driver training, pass an MVR, and maintain a valid driver’s license with insurance.
• State Foodhandler card/ServSafe certification as applicable.
• Preferably at least 3 months' experience in a food prep facility; restaurant or retail experience preferred.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
