Job summary

1-2-3 Equipment Solutions, a Tech24 Company, is seeking a Hot & Cold Technician to travel to customer sites across Virginia and North Carolina to troubleshoot, maintain and repair commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment. The role requires independence, strong technical skills, and a customer-focused approach.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hands-on experience in kitchen repair, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work nights or weekends for on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of commercial kitchen repair and refrigeration experience.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Able to travel extensively within the region.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to work some nights, weekends, and holidays for on-call rotation.
• EPA certification preferred.
• Own industry-standard hand tools.
• Mechanical inclination and willingness to learn new techniques.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
• Inspects equipment and components to ensure safe operation.
• Communicates with customer and staff about repair status.
• Completes service tickets according to procedures.
• Tracks truck stock to ensure needed parts are stocked.

Position Summary

The Hot & Cold Technician is responsible for driving a company vehicle to and from customer sites to troubleshoot, maintain and repair commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment. To be a successful Hot & Cold Technician, you should be able to work independently and solve problems as quickly and efficiently as possible. To excel in this position, you should have strong technical skills, be a master at trouble shooting and be an expert in customer service.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
• Inspects the commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment and their related components to ensure safe operation.
• Communicates with customer and branch staff regarding status of repairs to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated with customers.
• Completes service tickets according to procedures.
• Tracks truck stock to ensure needed parts are stocked on vehicle.
• Sustains service vehicle, tools, and uniforms to Tech24 standards.
• Sets a positive example for less experienced and/or new technicians by being a Company advocate.
• Follows all company policies and procedures, particularly regarding safety.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• 3-5 years of commercial kitchen repair and refrigeration experience
• Superb customer service skills
• Dependable and able to work independently
• Standard computer skills
• Own industry’s standard hand tools
• Ability to travel extensively within the region
• Ability to work some nights, weekend, and holidays for on-call rotation with your department (frequency varies with department size)
• Mechanically inclined with a hunger to learn new techniques and approaches
• Universal EPA certification preferred
