Job summary

Tech24's UST team seeks a Hot & Cold Technician to service commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment, diagnose problems, perform preventive maintenance, and deliver high-quality customer service.

Candidates should have 3–5+ years in commercial foodservice or refrigeration repair, a valid driver’s license, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, the ability to read manuals and schematics, and a willingness to participate in on‑call rotations.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in commercial foodservice and/or refrigeration repair.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working on commercial kitchen equipment is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and work in varying conditions.
• Climb ladders and work at heights; crawl in tight spaces.
• Own industry standard hand tools.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.
• EPA Universal certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, mixers, dishwashers, hot cases).
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair commercial refrigeration systems (walk-ins, reach-ins, prep tables, ice machines, undercounter coolers).
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe, efficient equipment operations.
• Document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system.
• Clearly communicate repair status, recommendations, and timelines to customers.
• Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked.
• Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Represent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer service.

Position Summary

As part of the UST team and broader Tech24 network, the Hot & Cold Technicians plays a critical role in servicing both commercial cooking (hot side) and refrigeration (cold side) equipment. This role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of commercial kitchen and refrigeration systems while delivering exceptional customer service. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in solving problems, minimizing customer downtime, and representing the company with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, mixers, dishwashers, hot cases, etc.)
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair commercial refrigeration systems (walk-ins, reach-ins, prep tables, ice machines, undercounter coolers, etc.)
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe efficient equipment operations
• Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system
• Clearly communicate repair status, recommendations, and timelines to customers
• Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked
• Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
• Represent the co-mpany with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer service
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies
• Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of commercial foodservice and/or refrigeration repair experience
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience working on commercial kitchen equipment is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints

• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions
• Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters

Compensation Transparency

The advertised pay range for this position is $35-$45. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced expertise in both commercial hot-side and cold-side equipment may be considered toward the higher end of the range.
