Job summary

Truist is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Atlanta to design and implement enterprise infrastructure solutions across hybrid cloud, data center, and network domains. You will lead strategic initiatives, drive automation, and ensure high availability while aligning with governance and business objectives.

The role requires 10+ years in infrastructure engineering, deep cloud/network expertise, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies including cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware.
• Master’s degree preferred; certifications such as CCIE, CISSP, CISM are desirable.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and hybrid cloud environments.

• Troubleshoots complex issues impacting infrastructure performance and reliability.
• Ensures compliance with technology strategies and governance to mitigate risks.
• Documents designs, configurations, and procedures to support operational consistency.
• Provides advanced technical guidance and training to infrastructure teams.

Job Description

Designs, builds, directs, and implements enterprise infrastructure solutions to enable scalable, secure, resilient, and reliable outcomes supporting cross-product engineering. Applies advanced specialized technical knowledge and skills to shape enterprise hosting strategy and design and deliver complex, distributed infrastructure solutions across hybrid cloud, data center, network, compute, storage, platform, and security domains.

Leads strategic infrastructure initiatives, including data center buildout, resiliency, and complex application and infrastructure migrations, while influencing technical direction across organizational boundaries to develop innovative solutions, optimize systems, and align infrastructure strategies with organizational objectives.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Implements strategic goals established by Executives and Senior Management and establishes operational plans for technical area of responsibility with short- to mid-term (0-3 years) impact on results.
• Designs, builds, directs, and implements enterprise infrastructure technology platforms and systems across cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, or middleware domains.
• Develops and applies advanced automation, monitoring, and optimization techniques to ensure high availability and performance of infrastructure.
• Leads large, complex technical infrastructure initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-departmental teams.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and external partners to integrate new technologies and drive continuous improvement of infrastructure standards and processes.
• Troubleshoots and resolves numerous, complex critical technical issues impacting infrastructure performance and reliability.
• Ensures compliance with technology strategies, standards, and governance to mitigate risks and maintain regulatory adherence.
• Documents and effectively communicates infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures to support operational consistency and knowledge sharing.
• Provides advanced technical guidance and training to infrastructure teams and lower-level technical professionals.
• Demonstrates technical innovation in supporting business objectives and technical strategic objectives. Influences infrastructure-related decisions and communicates effectively with stakeholders to align solutions with business objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies including cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Experience in the financial services industry.
• Industry certifications such as CCIE, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Expertise in designing and delivering complex, distributed infrastructure solutions across hybrid cloud, data center, network, compute, storage, platform, and security domains.
• Prior experience in leading complex, enterprise-wide IT infrastructure initiatives and projects.
• Ability to influence technical direction across organizational boundaries without requiring direct ownership of the underlying product or engineering teams.
• Demonstrated experience designing and executing complex application and infrastructure migrations across hybrid cloud and data center environments.

The annual base salary for this position is $160,000 - $200,000.
