Responsibilities

The restaurant hostess is the first employee to interact with arriving guests. Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting guests, welcoming them, and seating them.
  • Monitoring dining sections for available tables, estimating wait times, and managing the guest wait list.
  • Answering phone calls, booking reservations, and handling inquiries.
  • Assisting with floor planning to accommodate large parties.
  • Providing greetings and farewells to guests entering and leaving.
  • Escalating guest concerns to management.
