Job description

Position Summary

Guides guests to appropriate tables as directed by the maître d'. Interacts with guests, team members, and supervisors in a polite, courteous, and hospitable manner to ensure gracious hospitality.

Essential Functions of the Position Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  1. Anticipates and accommodates the needs of guests.
  2. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the entrance area.
  3. Complies with Department of Health and sanitation standards.
  4. Handles reservations and assists with incoming calls and guest inquiries.
  5. Checks guests' coats and belongings where applicable.
  6. Assists with setting up the front desk, performs side-work, and opening/closing procedures as directed by management.
  7. Ensures menus are printed and organized, and manages menu books during shifts.
  8. Reports any breakage or damage to equipment or furniture immediately.
  9. Attends pre-service meetings and departmental training sessions.
  10. Maintains a positive, professional attitude and demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality and its partners.
  11. Works as part of a team, providing support to fellow team members.
  12. Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Training Requirements

Tao Group Hospitality in-venue host person training.

Education/Working Knowledge

Previous hospitality and host experience, preferably in high-volume restaurants, nightclubs, or lounges.

Skills / Physical Demands / Work Environment / Schedule

Ability to communicate effectively, maintain positive energy, and work in a fast-paced environment. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., kneel, bend, sit, stand for extended periods, and work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Exposure to noise, crowds, smoke, cleaning materials, and hot kitchen elements. Maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality, and interact courteously with guests and team members.
