Position Summary
The Host position is responsible for welcoming our guests and facilitating the guest experience by organizing and maintaining an efficient guest flow. Hosts provide excellent guest care, enhance the food and beverage experience, and ensure it remains consistent.
Major Responsibilities/ Daily Essential Functions
Ensure each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment by greeting and acknowledging every guest, answering commonly asked questions, and moving the guest through the service process promptly.
Maintain host stand clean and orderly throughout shift.
Food and Beverage Displays should be neat, attractive, and well-organized.
Follows all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Maintain a professional and personable appearance.
Providing guests with menus and cleaning/sanitizing them once they are returned to the host stand.
Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure an even workload for wait staff.
Willing to cross-train at multiple stations and support all functions as needed.
Accountable for accurate timekeeping. Responsible for clocking in and out with employee passes.
Complete any reasonable task assigned by the supervisor.
Observe mountain-wide policies found in the Employee Handbook.
Secondary Function
Learn menu items and ingredients.
Assist with keeping areas clean and sanitized.
Assist with cashiering when needed.
Be fair and discreet in handling suspicious behavior.
Interpersonal Contacts
The position will have constant guest/ staff interaction.
Specific Job Skills/Certifications
License/Certifications: Oregon Food Handler’s Card
Technical: Excellent English communication skills. Some computer knowledge, and point of sale (POS) knowledge preferred.
Physical Capabilities: Long periods of standing.
Additional: Must have a positive attitude. Flexible with hours and days of work. Able to work any hours of the day, any day of the week. Must be proactive with all cleaning/bussing duties. Works well under pressure. Quick learner and works well in a team environment.
Education/Related Experience
Minimum education required: Some High School, Diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum time in related position: No experience necessary, kitchen/restaurant experience preferred.

In addition to the specific conditions below, every position at Mt. Bachelor requires the ability to shovel snow, lift up to 10 pounds, and walk on steep and uneven surfaces.
While performing the duties of this role, the employee will be required to frequently bend, reach, climb, push, pull, lift over 50 pounds, and stand for prolonged periods. Additionally, the position will require frequent visual concentration, rapid reactions to changes, and the utilization of hand/eye coordination.
Current Hiring Rate: $16.00/hr
Minimum Age Requirement: 16+
