Job Title: Host Person at Galveston Island Hilton

Overview

A Host is the first point of contact for guests and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to ensure a positive first impression of the restaurant.

Responsibilities

  1. Greet and welcome guests with a genuine smile and positive attitude.
  2. Engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and respond promptly to inquiries or concerns.
  3. Maintain knowledge of the menu, specials, and promotions to assist guests effectively.
  4. Handle guest complaints professionally or escalate to management when necessary.
  5. Assist with running food, delivering, and refilling drinks.
  6. Guide guests to their tables and present menus.
  7. Take to-go orders via phone and in person.
  8. Ensure guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience.
  9. Refill drinks and clear plates as needed.
  10. Provide high chairs and other requested items.
  11. Comply with all relevant federal and state laws, including FLSA tip regulations.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 1 year of restaurant experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Availability on weekdays, weekends, nights, mornings, and holidays.
  • Ability to read/write in English and handle basic math.
