Job summary

Matchbox Restaurant Group in Ashburn, VA is seeking a friendly Host/Hostess to greet guests, manage the waitlist, and seat guests with care. You’ll provide information on menus and policies while keeping the host stand organized and welcoming.

In this high-volume setting, you’ll coordinate with servers and the kitchen, ensuring smooth flow of seating and service, and maintaining a positive guest experience from arrival through dining.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume, upscale casual dining or equivalent service environment.
• Able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and some holidays.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (6–8 hours).
• Lift and carry up to 20 lbs (e.g., menus, high chairs, booster seats).
• Reach, bend, and stoop occasionally.
• Use hands and arms to operate reservation systems and phones.
• Clear verbal communication skills and ability to interact with guests in a busy environment.
• Ability to remain calm and composed while multitasking in a fast-paced setting.
