Job description

Position Summary

Guides guests to appropriate tables as directed by the maître d'. Interacts with guests, team members, and supervisors in a polite, courteous, and hospitable manner to ensure gracious hospitality.

Essential Functions of the Position Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  1. Anticipates and accommodates the needs of guests.
  2. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the entrance area.
  3. Complies with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
  4. Handles reservations and assists with incoming calls and guest inquiries.
  5. Checks guests' coats and belongings where applicable.
  6. Assists with setting up the front desk area, performs side-work, and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Ensures menus are printed and organized with current offerings.
  • Collects menus during shifts.
  • Performs opening and closing side-work as prescribed.
  • Reports equipment or furniture damage immediately to management.
  • Participates in daily pre-service meetings and departmental training.
  • Exhibits a positive, professional attitude and demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality and related environments.
  • Works collaboratively as part of a team and supports fellow team members.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience

Previous hospitality and host experience, especially in high-volume restaurant, nightclub, or lounge settings.

Skills, Physical Demands, and Work Environment

Effective verbal and written communication skills, positive energy, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and adaptability to varying noise and crowd levels. Must work extended hours, irregular shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Exposure to cleaning materials and hot kitchen environments is expected. Maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality while interacting with guests and team members.
