Job Description

Guides guests to appropriate table as directed by the maitre d'. Interacts with restaurant guests, team members, and supervisors in a polite, courteous, and hospitable manner to ensure gracious hospitality.

Essential Functions of the Position Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Anticipates and accommodates the needs of guests.
• Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the entrance area.
• Complies with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
• Handles reservations, incoming calls, and guest questions.
• Checks guests' coats and belongings (if applicable).
• Sets up front desk area, performs side-work, and manages opening/closing procedures, including ensuring menus are printed, organized, and collected during shifts.
• Reports equipment or furniture damage immediately.
• Attends pre-service meetings and departmental training.
• Learn by listening, observing, and sharing knowledge; lead by example.
• Portrays a positive, professional attitude.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and hotel environments.
• Works as part of a team, offering help and support.
• Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Education/Working Knowledge

• Previous hospitality experience.
• Experience as a host or in similar roles.
• Experience in high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge environments.

Skills / Physical Demands / Work Environment / Schedule

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive energy throughout the shift.
• Legible printing for communication.
• Ability to kneel, bend, sit, stand for extended periods.
• Ability to move quickly and push/lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work in noisy, crowded, smoky environments depending on guest volume.
• Extended hours, irregular shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
• Exposure to cleaning materials and hot kitchen elements.
• Maintain a professional appearance per company standards.
