****Independent Contractor Role****

Location: Several roles are available Statewide in Georgia

Host Home Providers are independent contractors and not an employee of Developmental Disabilities Ministries (DDM, Inc.).

Host Home Providers open their homes to provide a loving, caring, safe family environment with 24/7 support to individuals.

The duties and responsibilities of being a Host Home Provider vary greatly based on the person’s individual needs and wants. A Host Home Provider is required to provide supervision and life skills building opportunities to the person(s) in their home. This may range from teaching and modeling budgeting, cooking and laundry skills to personal hygiene and adaptive behavioral skills, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered to contract as a Host Home Provider, applicants must:

  1. Have a genuine interest in supporting others and want to share their lives with the people in their home.
  2. Possess communication skills to work well with others, such as family members, guardians, Program Managers, and other professionals involved in the person’s life.
  3. Complete the Host Home Provider intake packet (paper documents).
  4. Complete Relias Training.
  5. Complete required background checks and motor vehicle record check.
  6. Ensure other people living in the home who are 18 years of age or older complete and pass required background checks and motor vehicle background checks.
  7. Be honest, dependable, and caring with good judgment, understanding, and patience.
  8. Have a house or apartment, rented or owned, that can pass a safety inspection.
  9. Provide references from former employers and personal acquaintances.
  10. Provide documentation of completed training that will be assigned.
  11. Carry full insurance coverage on their automobile and home.
  12. Attend a Host Home Provider applicant informational meeting.
