Job summary

Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) is seeking Host Home Providers in the Eastern Iowa region to host adults with disabilities in your home. This contracted, independent contractor role offers the chance to mentor and support individuals on goals such as budgeting, shopping, cooking, personal hygiene, and community integration.

LSI matches providers with mentees and offers guidance, training and resources. A home safety check and extensive screening are required before a match is made.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old
• Must reside in Iowa
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must have a valid driver?s license
• Must meet minimum insurance requirements
• Must have access to a computer/internet for documentation
• Must complete all steps of screening, interview and matching before a mentee can begin receiving support
• Must have flexibility and creativity
• Must have passion for making a difference in the world

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, support and care for the person living in your home
• Work with the mentee on goals such as budgeting, shopping, cooking, personal hygiene and community integration
• Act as advocate/mentor to help the person live their best life
• Establish a meaningful relationship and invite the mentee to become part of your family
• Complete training requirements and home safety check before a match is made and a mentee placed
