Ideal providers are independent, resourceful, with excellent communication skills, and comfortable with screening and safety checks. Regions include Marshalltown to Keokuk and Centerville to Burlington; average pay is around $70,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 or older.
• Must reside in Iowa.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have a current/valid driver's license.
• Must meet minimum insurance requirements.
• Must have access to a computer/internet to complete documentation requirements.
• Must successfully complete all steps of the extensive screening, interview, and matching process before an individual can begin receiving support in your home.
• Must have flexibility and creativity.
• Finally, you'll need a passion for making a difference in the world.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, support, and care for the individual living in your home.
• Work with mentee on goals such as shopping, budgeting, coping skills, cooking meals, personal hygiene.
• Advocate/mentor helping them to live their best life possible.
• Help them integrate into their community.
• Establish a meaningful relationship by inviting the mentee to become part of your family.
• Adhere to training requirements and home safety checks prior to placement.
