Overview

A Host Home provider is an independent contractor who opens their home and heart to an adult with a developmental disability. Supports may include assistance with personal care, hygiene, meal planning, cooking, medications, recreation, leisure activities, transportation, shopping, and more.

ResCare Community Living is an experienced provider in disability services, offering community living, adult host homes, behavioral support, in-home pharmacy, telecare, supported employment, and day programs. For more information, visit www.rescarecommunityliving.com.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide daily care, activities, and supervision in accordance with laws and the Individual’s Service Plan, respecting their emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual needs.
  2. Prevent acts of disrespect, abuse, neglect, or exploitation, and report any such acts immediately.
  3. Document the Individual’s progress and unusual events, and submit reports as required.
  4. Arrange and oversee medical and dental care, transportation, and emergency responses.
  5. Maintain confidentiality of all records and information.
  6. Complete daily notes, attend scheduled meetings, and communicate regularly with the company.
  7. Assist with training relief staff and ensure compliance with training and documentation requirements.
  8. Report updates or changes in the Individual’s condition or circumstances.
  9. Manage medication administration, sign MARs, and coordinate medical appointments and orders.
  10. Handle medical documentation, lab follow-ups, and annual health checks.
  11. Limit travel and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Training in CAP Core Competencies
  3. Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and good driving record
  4. Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  5. Comfortable assisting with hygiene and medical routines
  6. Organizational and interpersonal skills

Additional Information

We offer a salary range of USD $35,000 to $70,000 annually. This is an entry-level, full-time position within the healthcare industry, focusing on community living and support services.
