Job description

Host Position

The Homestead Collective features multiple concepts including Campfire Pizza, Till Kitchen, Garden of the Gods Cafe, Dads Donuts, Redleaf Coffee, Garden of the Gods Catering, and a private event space. Morning and evening positions are available. Part time and full time positions are available.

Job Overview

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Responsible for warmly greeting guests and seating them in a timely manner to minimize wait and ensure customer satisfaction.

Experience

No previous experience required – 1 year experience preferred.

Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays based on business demands.

A working knowledge of the practices and procedures of safe food handling.

Working knowledge of point of sale and reservation systems preferred.

Excellent customer service skills.

Friendly demeanor and positive attitude.

Ability to work in a team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.

When possible, hold doors open for guests to enter or exit.

When immediate seating is limited, record guests names and number in party providing guests with estimated waiting times.

Call out name of party when table is available.

Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.

Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.

Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.

Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed.

Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.

Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.

Reports safety hazards to manager on duty. Reports all employee accidents to manager on duty.

Maintains positive attitude and professionalism at all times.

Other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications

Education: Entry level position. 1 year related experience preferred.

Language: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, vendors and co-workers.

Computer skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to learn new point of sale systems.

Hours and Availability

Typical workweek: 25-40 hours

*May be more hours during high event seasons.

Hours vary depending on business demand.

Benefits and Pay

Employees are considered “full time status" if the employee consistently works over 30 hours per work week. Benefits are offered to all full time employees after 60 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision and a free life insurance policy.
