Position Summary
Under general direction from the Restaurant Services Supervisor, responsible for providing an excellent first and last impression of the venue to guests and maintaining an efficient and courteous restaurant operation by greeting arriving customers in a friendly manner, seating customers promptly, and collecting payment and giving accurate change according to established policies and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, courteous guest service at all times following the Casino’s guest service standards including proper greeting and farewell.
- Answer phones and respond to guest requests.
- Meet arriving customers as they enter restaurant with a cordial greeting.
- Escort customers to assigned tables, issue menus, and solicit rapport to accommodate special needs or requests.
- Maintain a highly visible appearance in the restaurant by remaining at the cashier station and circulating to assist servers or respond to customer requests.
- Assess operational efficiency and report to management.
- Solicit feedback from departing customers to improve services, increase customer base, and maximize revenue.
- Take notes on customer comments and report to management.
- Collect payment, operate a cash register, and give accurate change.
- Balance and reconcile reports at shift end for accurate records.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Answer questions regarding policies, procedures, and local events.
- Resolve customer issues and disputes; contact supervisor as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant and assist with cleaning duties.
- Check table and seating setup prior to opening.
- Report maintenance or housekeeping issues promptly.
- Exhibit professional appearance and friendly demeanor.
- Follow safety and customer service policies.
- Contribute to team efforts.
- Record transactions in POS system accurately.
- Assist guests and servers with food and beverage orders.
- Assist with beverage service and keep work area stocked and clean.
- Process to-go orders and assist with catering deliveries.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (waived by HR if applicable).
- Six months of cash handling and guest service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and guest service ability.
- ServSafe certification and food & beverage experience preferred.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and obtain gaming license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and food service principles.
- Basic math and cash handling skills.
- Customer service techniques and creating a friendly atmosphere.
- Ability to operate a cash register and communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain professionalism.
Physical Demands
Regular talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, and reaching. Frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color vision.
Work Environment
Indoor and outdoor work, exposure to smoke, noise, and varying weather conditions. Must work nights, weekends, and holidays.
