Job summary

Ameristar Casino Resort Spa is hiring for all restaurant-service positions. The role requires 18+ years with higher age thresholds for beverage service, and offers day-one health benefits and development opportunities.

You will greet and seat guests, manage dining room flow, and ensure service quality while handling payments and inquiries. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, cash-handling experience, and excellent guest services skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous cash handling experience is helpful.
• Must have excellent guest service skills.
• Able to operate a POS system and/or adding machine and make change.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must be very friendly and outgoing.

Responsibilities

• Receive cash or credit card from customers in payment for goods or services.
• Computes bill on POS system or adding machine, makes change, and issues receipt.
• Greets and seats patrons.
• Coordinates and controls the flow of the Restaurant.
• Assigns stations to servers and bus persons.
• Supervises the restaurant during the absence of the Restaurant Supervisor/Manager.
• Interacts between Service Staff and Patrons when difficult situations arise.
• Ensures that Service Quality and Standards are followed.
• Answer any guest-related questions in the Ameristar Standard.
• Answer the telephone in a professional manner.
