Job summary

Princess Cruises and Holland America Line is seeking a Host/Cashier for the Holland America Denali Lodge this season. You will operate computerized point-of-sale systems, greet guests, and help maintain a clean, welcoming dining area in a fast-paced, high-energy setting.

This seasonal full-time role requires Alaska Food Handler’s Card and Alaska alcohol safety card, ability to lift 50 lbs, and US work eligibility.

Qualifications

• Alaska Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain one.
• Valid Alaska alcohol safety card.
• 21+ years old to serve alcohol in Alaska.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs / 23 kg.
• Eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS, handle transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all work and storage spaces.
• Clean and stock venue; rotate and organize products to prevent spoilage.
• Complete sanitization and food safety logs with guidance from management.
• Contribute to a positive guest experience with a professional appearance.
• Coordinate with Dining Room Supervisor for smooth flow of guests.

As a Host/Cashier, you’ll operate computerized point-of-sale systems, engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, and uphold high standards of cleanliness and quality. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate point of sale computer, handle financial transactions, and process orders accurately.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work and storage spaces.
• Cleaning and stocking the venue to ensure success, rotating and organizing products to prevent spoilage.
• Completing sanitization and food safety protocols and logs with assistance and direction from management.
• Contribute effectively to a positive guest experience while maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.
• Works with the Dining Room Supervisor to ensure a smooth flow of guests to the restaurant.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have or have the ability to obtain an Alaska Food Handler’s Card.
• Must have a valid alcohol safety card for the State of Alaska.
• Minimum age of 21 years is required to serve alcohol in the State of Alaska.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs./23kg.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

• Ability to organize and prioritize work, and maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
• Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
• Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
