Job Description

The Host/Cashier position involves supporting F&B Supervisors and the Restaurant Manager in serving guests in a restaurant environment. Responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, handling payment transactions (cash, credit card, comps, players club points, travelers checks), managing wait times, clearing tables, and performing other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

This role aims to maximize operational efficiency and profits by performing duties personally or through staff. Tasks include developing menus, creating SOPs for food preparation using various techniques and equipment, and ensuring food safety and quality standards are met.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet, seat, and rotate guests through server stations, manage wait times, and perform side work.
• Process payments via cash, credit card, comps, or other methods.
• Assist with table resets and serve guests according to restaurant themes and standards.
• Maintain sanitation, hygiene, and safety standards in food and beverage handling.
• Follow emergency procedures and communicate regularly with supervisors.
• Ensure equipment is in good working order and work area is safe and clean.
• Work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced casino restaurant environment with professionalism.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Preferably 1 year of experience in food & beverage service as a host/hostess or cashier. Must have excellent customer service, math skills, and experience with cash and credit transactions. Must be at least 21 years old, certified in Serve Safe Food Sanitation, Serve Safe Alcohol Awareness, and hold relevant licenses including Indiana ATC and IGC/IHRC Occupational License. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts is necessary.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push or pull up to 250 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varying temperatures and environments. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for disabilities.

Work in a smoking environment, in noisy, hot or cold conditions, with exposure to chemicals, smoke, and high activity levels. Tasks involve standing, walking, reaching, and safe navigation on slippery surfaces.
