Job Details

Better Hospitality Group (BHG) is the operating group behind three of Washington, D.C.’s most cherished neighborhood bar/restaurants: TAKODA in the Shaw neighborhood, Boardwalk Bar & Arcade at The Wharf, and Easy Company at the Wharf. We are currently hiring for Easy Company at the Wharf. BHG is the fastest growing bar/restaurant group in the Greater Washington region.

Description/Responsibilities

• Greet guests and ascertain their dining needs
• Attend to guests upon arrival, handle reservations, and guide them to their tables
• Provide accurate wait time estimates and manage seating arrangements
• Distribute menus and answer initial guest questions
• Optimize seating to balance workload among wait staff
• Answer phones and coordinate reservations for large parties
• Perform opening and closing duties
• Assist team members and other departments to maintain positive relationships
• Prepare restaurant tables with attention to sanitation and consistency

Transportation

• Must have reliable transportation
• Boardwalk is located on the northwestern side of the Wharf and accessible by the green metro line (Waterfront and L’Enfant stations)

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong customer service skills to assist guests effectively
• Good communication skills for team coordination
• Preferred but not required: experience with Toast ordering system

Physical Responsibilities

• Constant standing and walking for extended periods

Experience

• Preferred but not required: 1 year of restaurant experience

Hours

• Open availability, including weekends and holidays
