Job summary

Boyd Gaming Corporation in Virginia is seeking a Host to be the first friendly face guests see. You will welcome guests, guide them to the right table, and hand off menus while highlighting today's specials.

You will help keep the dining room energized, coordinate breaks for staff, ensure cleanliness and safety, and handle guest concerns by escalating to management when needed.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain/maintain required licenses or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and guide them to tables based on party size and station.
• Present menus and highlight specials to guests.
• Coordinate service flow to deliver fast, friendly dining.
• Coordinate breaks for bus and server teams.
• Maintain dining room cleanliness and safety.
• Address guest concerns and escalate to management when needed.
• Record guest counts and note issues to help improve operations.

As our Host, you'll be the first friendly face guests see! Here's what you'll be doing:

• Welcome guests with genuine warmth and guide them to their perfect table based on party size and station assignments—think of yourself as the restaurant's welcoming ambassador!
• Hand off menus and get guests excited about our specials—your enthusiasm sets the tone for their entire dining experience.
• Keep the energy flowing by moving through the restaurant and orchestrating our service team to deliver fast, friendly, and fantastic service that keeps guests smiling.
• Coordinate breaks for our bus and server team to keep everyone fresh and the restaurant running smoothly.
• Keep a sharp eye on the dining room to ensure it's spotless and meets all safety and health standards—a clean space is a happy space!
• Turn any guest concerns into opportunities to wow them; escape issues to management when needed so we can make things right.
• Track the night's wins by recording guest counts, noting any team absences, and flagging equipment or food service hiccups so we can continuously improve.
