Job summary

Discovery Land Company’s Dune Deck Beach Club in Westhampton Beach, NY is seeking a seasonal Host/Hostess to join the Food and Beverage Service Department. The role runs through September 30, 2026, with a pay rate of $25.00 USD per hour.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least six months of fine-dining or high-volume experience, and knowledge of food safety and F&B operations. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected.

• Knowledge of local food safety standards; possesses or can obtain State Food Safety Certificate.
• Knowledgeable of food and beverage operations.

• Welcome members and guests at the door with a smile and warm greeting, using guest name whenever possible.
• Maintain eye contact and correct posture.
• Manage reservations and walk-ins in an organized fashion.
• Schedule reservations over the phone, email, or in person requests.
• Ensure all members and guests with reservations have their required table before arrival.
• Lead guest to appropriate table according to number of guest.
• Thank guests and members for their patronage and invite them to return.
• Assist in seeing all club policy, procedures, and standards are being met by all staff.
• Any other duties as assigned.

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Dune Deck Beach Club, set in Westhampton Beach, New York. Dune Deck Beach Club is seeking a seasonal Host/Hostess to join the Food and Beverage Service Department. This position will be available until September 30, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome members and guests at the door with a smile and warm greeting, using guest name whenever possible.
• Maintain eye contact and correct posture.
• Manage reservations and walk-in’s in an organized fashion.
• Schedule reservations over the phone, email, or in person requests.
• Ensure all members and guests with reservations have their required table before arrival.
• Lead guest to appropriate table according to number of guest.
• Thank guests and members for their patronage and invite them to return.
• Assist in seeing all club policy, procedures, and standards are being met by all staff.

• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
• Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
