Job summary

Reading Country Club is hiring a driven Part-time Host to greet guests, manage seating, and support service staff in a fast-paced hospitality setting. The role is part-time and located at Reading, PA, within Troon’s esteemed golf and community management network.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, basic English proficiency, and familiarity with Microsoft Office and POS systems. Training in Alcohol Awareness is required and prior hospitality exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and speak English may be required.
• Must complete Alcohol Awareness Training prior to employment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of point of sales (POS) system.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes guests and escorts to tables, manages seating rotations.
• Maintains reservation book and notes special requests.
• Ensures proper table settings and station readiness.
• Supports service staff with bussing and order taking as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness and appearance of service areas.
• Communicates guest requests to management and follows safety practices.

Description

Reading Country Club, located in Reading, PA, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Host! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes each guest with a friendly greeting and escorts to their assigned table
• Seats guests in station rotation while maintaining guest lists and following/enforcing check issue procedures
• Assigns opening and/or closing side duties and supervises side work; ensures completed set ups of all stations before service staff departure
• Assists with side work and/or assisting service staff with bussing tables, taking cocktail orders, etc.
• Maintains reservation book, takes incoming telephone calls, notes reservations and special requests by guests
• Retains knowledge of all menu items, prices and general service procedures
• Responsible for standards of appearance and cleanliness in all service areas
• Remains visible on dining room floor and is easily accessible to guests, staff and management
• Checks all tables before service to ensure proper settings
• Communicates guest requests and concerns to the department manager
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
• Regular and reliable attendance
• Performs other duties as required by supervisor

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job
• Must complete Alcohol Awareness Training
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of point of sales (POS) system

Working Conditions

The employee often is required to stand, walk, talk, and listen

The employee must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. regularly

While performing the required duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to reach with arms and hands, use hands, taste, smell, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
