Job summary

Newport Restaurant Group’s Hemenway’s in Providence seeks a Host to greet guests and seat diners, coordinating reservations in a fast-paced downtown setting. You will deliver friendly, efficient service and help create a welcoming dining experience.

Training is available; flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and some holidays. Compensation ranges from $17 to $21 per hour plus benefits such as 401k match, employee ownership opportunities, dining discounts, EAP, and more.

Hemenway’s is looking for a Host to join the team.

Providence’s original downtown, riverside restaurant with a national reputation for serving only the freshest seafood while delivering genuine hospitality. About the Position: In the Host role, you will coordinate seating of guests to provide fast and courteous service.

About You: You are friendly, outgoing, and driven to succeed. You have a strong passion for hospitality and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team environment.

• Schedules dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for diners
• Greets guests, escorts them to tables, and provides menus
• Communicates guests’ needs to service staff and management.

Qualifications:

• Must have flexible schedule to work during days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
• Restaurant and OpenTable experience are preferred however, we are willing to train the right candidate.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift and move 25-50 pounds
• Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships
