Job summary

The Alinea Group is seeking a part-time Host to warmly welcome guests and support a high-energy dining experience. This role requires availability Friday through Sunday, with a focus on delivering an exceptional first impression at the entry and front of house.

The Host will maintain knowledge of reservations and guest preferences, assist with PONs, and ensure smooth communication with management to meet guest needs. Physical requirements apply for standing and light lifting.

Responsibilities

• Maintains expert level knowledge of reservations, PON, dietary restrictions, and guest requests for each service.
• Greets guests and maintains welcoming atmosphere at the entrance.
• Recognizes and welcomes regulars and PONs.
• Anticipates guest needs and responds promptly.
• Accommodates all requests for information courteously.
• Organizes and maintains secure storage of guest items.
• Returns guest items according to established policies and procedures.
• Communicates PON arrivals and special requests to management.
• Responds to guest concerns with professionalism.
• Monitors and responds to emails sent to Host email account.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Description

Next is looking for a part-time Host to join our team! The Host is an important part of the team, ensuring each guest has a positive and welcome first impression to their dining experience. This is a part-time position, paid hourly, and candidates must be willing to work 3 days per week, Friday - Sunday.

Next is a pre-fixe experience that undergoes a creative overhaul every four months, each time inviting guests to explore a new culinary region, theme or moment in time. For example, Winter 2019's Silk & Spice menu featured dishes that explored the spices and flavors along the historic trade route in Asia, Northeast Africa and Europe. Next was named the Best New Restaurant in the U.S. by the James Beard Foundation in 2012 and awarded a Michelin Star. Past menus have included Ancient Rome (2017), The Hunt (2012), and Alinea Retrospective (2018).

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours




• Must be able to move, pull or lift at least 35 pounds




• Must be able to climb stairs multiple times per shift
