Compensation: 20/hr (before tip credit) + tips

About Us

Dudley’s is a lively neighborhood restaurant located in the heart of NYC’s Lower East Side. Known for our welcoming atmosphere, exceptional food, and vibrant energy, we’re passionate about creating memorable experiences for our guests. We’re seeking a friendly and organized Host to be the first point of contact for our guests and play a vital role in delivering gracious hospitality.

Role Overview

As a Host at Dudley’s, you’ll ensure guests feel welcomed from the moment they arrive. You’ll manage reservations, guide guests to their tables, and maintain the flow of the dining room. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys engaging with people, and has a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Experience:
    • Greet and welcome guests warmly, ensuring they feel at home.
    • Guide guests to their tables as directed by the maître d’.
    • Anticipate guest needs and provide courteous, attentive service.
  • Reservations & Communication:
    • Take and manage reservations accurately.
    • Answer incoming calls and assist with guest inquiries.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Front Desk & Venue Maintenance:
    • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the entrance and front desk areas.
    • Ensure menus are updated, organized, and readily available for service.
    • Collect menus throughout the venue during shifts.
  • Team Collaboration & Support:
    • Assist with coat check and other guest belongings (if applicable).
    • Perform opening and closing side work as directed by management.
    • Attend daily pre-service meetings and participate in training sessions.
  • Compliance & Standards:
    • Follow all Department of Health and company sanitation guidelines.
    • Report any damage or issues with equipment or furniture promptly to management.
    • Maintain a professional appearance and uphold company standards.
Qualifications

  • Previous host or hospitality experience in a high-volume restaurant, lounge, or nightclub.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
