Job summary

Big Boy Restaurant Group is seeking an Entry-level Service Assistant in Charlotte, MI to keep the dining room clean, stock utensils, and support a smooth dining experience. You will ensure dishes and glassware are available, maintain sanitation, and follow health guidelines at all times throughout shifts.

The role emphasizes teamwork, physical stamina, adherence to uniform standards, and the ability to work in varied shift timings, including day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Able to stand for long periods
• Bending, reaching and climbing stairs
• Work under pressure
• Walk in and out of refrigerated and freezer areas
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Good hearing, vision, and English speaking skills
• Read English and follow written directions accurately
• Work with a wide variety of foods, ingredients and cleaning supplies
• Good finger, hand, wrist and elbow mobility
• Able to work in hot environments
• Work with steam, hot and cold foods, and ice
• Good memory, math and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain dining room cleanliness and sanitation at all times
• Ensure service staff have clean dishes, glassware and silverware
• Maintain safe and sanitary environment for food storage, preparation and handling
• Keep dish room area clean and organized
• Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards
• Maintain exterior cleanliness including parking lots and sidewalks; assist with snow removal and salting when necessary
