Sunstates Security is hiring Hospitality Security Officers for overnight shifts in the Downtown Chicago, IL area.

We are looking for professional, dependable, and customer-focused individuals who are committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, visitors, and team members.

The ideal candidate exercises sound judgment, demonstrates critical thinking, and maintains a high level of professionalism while working independently. Strong communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and proven de-escalation techniques are essential for effectively managing challenging situations and delivering exceptional customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in security, hospitality, customer service, or a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Previous experience working in guest-facing or hospitality-focused environments.
• Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional while responding to dynamic or high-pressure situations.

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, visitors, and team members.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by interacting with the public in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner.
• Conduct routine patrols of the property and respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns.
• Apply sound judgment, critical thinking, and effective de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts and manage challenging situations.
• Enforce property policies and procedures consistently, fairly, and professionally.
• Accurately complete all required reports, logs, and assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.
• Work independently while collaborating effectively with hotel staff, management, and emergency responders as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to climb stairs and perform regular interior and exterior property patrols.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and perform the essential functions of the position.
