Job summary

The Yale Club of New York City is seeking a Restaurant Manager who will align the leadership team to uphold high standards, elevate service, and inspire the dining team to collaborate and excel in a busy club environment.

You will work with service and culinary teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences, maintain room cleanliness, manage payroll accuracy, ensure HR and health compliance, and support staff development and growth through clear coaching and accountability.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; combination of education and experience equal to a Bachelor’s Degree.
• At least two years of leadership experience in hospitality.
• Experience working with a union team is a plus.
• Proficient communication in English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a culture of collaborative, warm hospitality for team members and guests in our restaurant and other outlets.
• Maintain excellence and cleanliness of the dining room, ensuring inventory is available for employees and guests.
• Maintain positive working relationships with kitchen leaders and line staff for effective communication.
• Continuously provide support to all service staff and participate in the service cycle as needed.
• Work with beverage management to conduct and submit month-end beverage inventory.
• Ensure HR practices, payroll accuracy, and adherence to standards; discipline when necessary.
• Ensure DOL/Health Department compliance for operations.
• Provide feedback and growth pathways for team members.
• Look for internal and external opportunities to grow the team.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support objectives.
