Job summary

Cornell University is seeking a Food Service Worker S02 to join the Statler Hotel operations team. You will help deliver high-quality food and guest service while working at various stations according to daily needs.

The role requires flexibility for shifts, a focus on safety, and the ability to stand for long periods. Union/ non-union guidelines apply, with pay determined by collective agreements and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
• Ability to cultivate inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• One year related food service experience.
• A working knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
• Good customer service skills.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift 25 lbs regularly.
• Must maintain an up to date food handlers safety certification.
• Ability to learn to operate food preparation equipment (fryer, choppers, slicers, mixers, ovens, steamer).
• Knowledge of allergens and ability to serve guests with known allergies.
• Ability to work a variable schedule including days, nights, weekends, holidays.
