Job summary

Prime Group seeks a skilled Hospitality Staff Accountant to join its finance team. The role focuses on financial review, reporting accuracy, and collaboration with operations to ensure integrity of financial records and timely reports to the Controller.

Responsibilities include leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, supervising outsourced accounting, and contributing to budgets and forecasts while supporting year-end tax efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA is a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, focused on financial review and analysis
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience in the hospitality industry preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software (Yardi, Sage, R365, xtraCHEF) and advanced Excel
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements, ledgers, and supporting docs for accuracy and compliance
• Analyze financial data and trends to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement
• Perform detailed reconciliations and investigate variances
• Supervise outsourced accounting team and provide guidance
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepare financial statements
• Collaborate with hospitality operations to review transactions and provide insights
• Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts with commentary
• Assist in year-end tax filing documentation with accurate information
• Handle impromptu projects as directed by management
