Journeyman Distillery is seeking a diligent Janitor to support daily operations in Valparaiso, IN. The role covers cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of public spaces to ensure a welcoming environment for guests and staff.

The position requires a high school diploma (or GED), the ability to work with minimal supervision, and physical capacity to lift up to 30 pounds. A strong attention to detail and dependable teamwork are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Gather and empty trash cans and maintain clean containers.
• Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.).
• Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.
• Clean interior windows, exterior lower windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Dust and clean furniture and walls.
• Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants.
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
• Stock and maintain supply rooms; requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning.
• Cooperate with the rest of the staff.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.
• Deep clean restroom, scrub floors, walls, tile, and partitions.
• Deep clean floors (strip, clean, and seal floors) in designated areas.
• Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors post-operational hours and verifying electronic equipment is turned off.
• Perform any other tasks requested by management, the company, or the owner.
