Job summary

Black Desert Resort, a premier luxury destination in Southern Utah, is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee all accounting operations and ensure financial integrity across entities. You will support month-end close, reporting, cash management, internal controls, and audits while partnering with site leadership.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 2–3 years of hospitality accounting experience, with strong GAAP knowledge, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 2–3 years hospitality accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in A/P, A/R and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal, team and hospitality skills.
• Proficient with MS Office; capable of mastering MICROS, Opera and Oracle EBS.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, GL maintenance, cash handling, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, income auditing, and payroll coordination with department heads.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings; prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Prepare financial statements and KPI tracking for leadership and owners.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and company policies across entities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning processes.
• Coordinate audits and respond to inquiries.
• Mentor accounting clerks or finance staff as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial data and guest information.
• Collaborate with department leaders to review revenue postings and expense allocations.
• Assist in owner reports and investor communications.
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and technology.
