Job summary

Terrestris LLC seeks hospitalists to support the Veteran community in Fargo, ND. This contract role offers day and night shifts, with 7 am–7 pm and 7 pm–7 am rotating schedules, and compensation of $175+ per hour.

Open to Locum or Traveling physicians; requires MD/DO, US license, Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine, BLS/ACLS; VA experience a plus; credentialing and onboarding per VA processes; benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid leave.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
• Graduate of an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree.
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States or DC.
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• VA experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care for hospitalized medical patients, including admission, evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning.
• Coordinate with primary care and sub-specialists to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform timely and proactive discharge planning and perioperative coordination.
• Administrative duties representing ~5% of time.

What does a typical day look like for the Hospitalists?

You Will

• 7 am to 7 pm and 7 pm to 7 am
• Direct Patient Care: estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care.
  • Evaluation, Treatment and Management:
  • Contractor's physicians shall admit and coordinate all aspects of care for hospitalized medical patients including:
    • Admission, including history and physical examinations
    • Appropriate placement within the Hospital
    • Evaluation and treatment, including the ordering and interpretation of diagnostic studies, including laboratory, diagnostic imaging, and electrocardiographic Examinations, and the administration of medications normally considered part ofthe practice of hospital medicine.
    • Discussion of end-of-life preferences/advanced care planning
    • Consultations with sub-specialists
    • Timely and proactive discharge planning
    • Coordination of care with primary care physician
    • Discharge, including ensuring appropriate follow-up is arranged
    • Perioperative care
• Administrative: estimated 5% of time not involved in direct patient care
