Job summary

Spectrum Medical Partners is seeking a Hospitalist in Orlando to provide inpatient medical care across affiliated hospitals and support surgical and specialty services with consultative internal medicine.

The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, daily management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Requires MD/DO, board eligibility or certification, FL license, and DEA eligibility. 1099 status with weekend coverage and quarterly bonus eligibility is noted.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and board eligibility/certification required.
• Active Florida medical license in good standing is mandatory.
• DEA license eligibility/activation is preferred.
• Completion of internal medicine or family medicine residency is required.
• Board certification/eligibility governs credentialing and scope.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care for patients admitted at affiliated hospitals.
• Support surgical and specialty services through general internal medicine consults.
• Assess, evaluate and manage patients in acute facility settings.
• Perform histories, physicals and necessary diagnostic evaluations.
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests and labs.
• Proscribe treatments and coordinate with attending physicians.
• Attend multi-disciplinary rounds and ensure care continuity.
• Refer patients to appropriate care sources and ensure timely referrals.
• Support resource use and clinical pathway implementation.

Education

Doctorate degree in Medicine (MD or DO)

Advanced graduate medical education in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

Board Certification or Board Eligibility (IM or FP)

Active Florida medical license in good standing

DEA license eligible/active

Job Summary

The Hospitalist is expected to provide clinical care for patients admitted at our affiliated hospitals, provide support to our surgical and specialty services through consultative general internal medicine practice.

Primary Functions

• Responsible for the assessment, evaluation and clinical management of patients in the acute facility. This is inclusive of performing histories and physicals, as well as, conducting physical examinations.
• Diagnosis and active management of patient conditions, including evaluation and treatment, inclusive of daily patient care.
• Attend multi-disciplinary rounds at site
• Orders, conducts, and interprets diagnostic studies and laboratory tests
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including but not limited to suturing, wound care, incision and drainage and splinting
• Prescribes or recommends pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled medications
• Consults appropriate physician(s) for patient care needs
• Refers patients to appropriate sources of care as required
• Assures the efficient utilization of resources while supporting clinical pathway implementation and compliance
• Assures appropriate and timely referrals to a tertiary care facility as indicated by the patient care needs in consultation with the primary care physician or attending physician

Education, Training, Experience

• Doctorate degree in medicine (MD or DO).
• Completion of advanced graduate medical education in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible (IM or FP)
• Active FL medical license in good standing
