The West Virginia University Health System, the state's largest health system and largest private employer, comprises 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states. It includes five institutes and provides management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements.

WVU Medicine seeks a Hospitalist. The successful candidate will practice primarily in Wheeling, WV.
Duties: The candidate will practice in the area of Internal Medicine.
Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine. Employer also accepts Family Medicine boards with significant Hospitalist experience.
About Wheeling Hospital: As a full member of the health system, Wheeling Hospital is part of a broad, integrated network across West Virginia, Southwestern Pennsylvania, Western Maryland, and Ohio. It has served the Northern Panhandle of WV, Eastern Ohio, and parts of Pennsylvania longer than any other hospital in the state. The hospital has 247 beds and a medical staff of 230 physicians, with additional system hospitals in the region.
Other services include the Continuous Care Center, Wheeling Renal Care, and Howard Long Wellness Center. Connected to the hospital are four medical office buildings with 80 physicians' private offices.
Community and Lifestyle: Wheeling is a historic city on the Ohio River, 58 miles west of Pittsburgh, PA. It offers a vibrant cultural scene, including the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, Oglebay Institute, and numerous festivals. Year-round activities include golf, hiking, biking, water sports, skiing, and family activities.
