Albany Medical Center's Primary Care Department is seeking full-time Hospitalist Physician Assistants to join our busy hospitalist team and lead inpatient care across the patient journey.

The role offers day shifts 7a-4p and evening shifts 4p-midnight, with 7 on/7 off block scheduling at the Downtown Campus, Albany NY. Compensation includes a competitive base and incentive opportunities within a leading academic health system.

Qualifications

• New York State PA license and active registration.
• Master's degree from an accredited PA program.
• Epic EMR experience is a plus.
• ATLS and BLS certifications required.
• Ability to perform essential clinical tasks and adapt to a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsabilités

• Conduct daily rounds and adjust treatment based on progress.

The Primary Care Department at Albany Medical Center is seeking full-time Hospitalist Physician Assistants to join our busy and collaborative primary care Hospitalist team. This position offers the opportunity to be at the center of inpatient care, guiding patients through every step of their hospital journey.

Position Highlights:

• Day shifts 7a-4p and evening shifts 4p-midnight available
• Block scheduling of 7 days on 7 days off
• Primary site: Downtown Campus- 43 New Scotland Ave, Albany NY 12208

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for acutely and chronically ill hospitalized patients
• Admit, manage, and discharge patients, including completing discharge summaries and care plans
• Conduct daily patient rounds and adjust treatment based on clinical progress
• Perform history & physical exams, develop diagnoses, and initiate treatment plans
• Collaborate closely with the attending physician and other health care providers to provide high-quality patient care
• Serve as a primary point of communication for patients, families, and care team
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans in a clear and compassionate manner
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record
• Participate in quality improvement and practice efficiency initiatives

Qualifications:

• License and active registration as a Physician Assistant in New York State
• Master's Degree from an accredited completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Familiarity working in electronic medical records. Epic experience a plus.
• Collaborate effectively across various departments to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and a positive work environment
• Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality
• Advanced Trauma Life Support and Basic Life Support certification required
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position in a clinical environment, including, but not limited to, standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Requires sufficient visual, auditory, and manual dexterity abilities to assess patients, provide direct patient care, operate medical equipment, and complete documentation.

Tiered salary range based on years of licensure:

• Newly licensed: $126,299
• 3 years of licensure: $133,315
• 8 years of licensure: $140,332
• 12 years of licensure: $147,349
