Job summary

St. Mary's Health Care System, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a Hospitalist Physician to join St. Mary's Hospital Medicine in Athens, Georgia.

This physician-led, collaborative practice provides inpatient care with strong specialty support and a focus on high-quality outcomes. The position features a 7-on/7-off schedule with 12-hour days (10:00 AM - 10:00 PM), full-time commitment, and an employed role within the St. Mary's Medical Group.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Georgia.
• Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
• New graduates and experienced physicians are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care for hospitalized adult patients, including admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with specialists, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary team members to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies as needed.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental activities.
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and clinical excellence.
• Work a 7-on/7-off consisting of 12-hour mid-day shifts (10:00 AM - 10:00 PM), with a full-time commitment of 15 scheduled shifts per month.
