Job description

Seeking a BE/BC Hospitalist Medical Director to join a talented team! Here's more:

  1. Looking to recruit an experienced Hospitalist Medical Director for a group of 8 Hospitalists.
  2. Candidate should be BE/BC in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  3. Position involves 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
  4. This role is ideal for a physician passionate about clinical excellence, team leadership, and patient-centered care.
  5. The Medical Director will work alongside the VP of Clinical Operations to ensure high standards of care, drive quality improvement, and collaborate with other departments to optimize patient outcomes.
  6. The role includes introducing APPs to the inpatient setting among other projects.
  7. Full-time hospitalist shifts include an average census per physician, 7 on/7 off schedule, open ICU, participation in rapid response teams and codes.
  8. Current staffing includes 3 physicians per day, 7 am-7 pm, with one physician on night shift 7 pm-7 am. Each physician manages a set number of patients and handles calls during their shift.
  9. ICU: 12 beds, with ICU skills such as vent management and central lines being important, as hospitalists cover the ICU.
  10. Support includes anesthesiologists and surgeons for consults, available 24/7, and RT staff proficient in intubation.
  11. Emergency Department handles codes, with hospitalists arriving promptly to take over care.

Benefits:

  • Salary based on MGMA median.
  • Option to work extra 12-hour shifts at $2,160 per shift if needed.
  • $25,000 sign-on bonus.
  • Up to $10,000 relocation assistance.
  • Up to $4,500 for CME, professional licenses, dues, and journals.
  • Malpractice insurance coverage: $2 million per occurrence / $6 million aggregate.
  • Benefits include health, dental, vision, life, disability, and AD&D insurance.
  • Health insurance premiums: non-smoker employee rate $22/month; family rate $154/month.
  • 403B matching up to 3% after one year.
  • 457 plan with a maximum contribution of $18,000 annually.
