Job summary

St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, AZ is seeking a daytime hospitalist for a full-time employed position. The role features a shift-based block schedule of 7 on / 7 off, with a swing shift and one nocturnist on rotation, and support from two daytime APPs.

Responsibilities include caring for an average daily census of 18 patients, a closed ICU model with intensivist and IV team, and potential teaching of internal medicine residents. Spanish-speaking skills are a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Board eligible or board certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine.
• Arizona medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Arizona.

Position Highlights

• Specialty: Daytime Hospitalist - full-time, employed position at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tucson, AZ
• Schedule: Shift-based block scheduling - 7 on / 7 off with some flexibility built in for work-life balance
• Shift Coverage: 1 swing shift and 1 nocturnist on rotation
• Team Support: Two APPs during day shifts, one APP overnight
• Patient Volume: Average daily census of 18 patients with 1-2 admissions per shift
• ICU Model: Closed ICU - Intensivist and IV Team provide procedure support
• Teaching Opportunity: Optional involvement in teaching internal medicine residents
• Language Bonus: Spanish-speaking skills a plus, but not required
