Brainerd, Minnesota, Hospitalist Job

• Clinical Role:
  • Flexibility to split with outpatient Family Medicine or Internal Medicine if desired.
  • Pay incentive for extra shifts.
  • Full-time equivalent = 24 weeks/year.
  • Well-established Hospitalist program and "Top 100 Rural Hospital in America".
  • 162-bed hospital and Level III Trauma Center.
  • Schedule: 7 on 7 off, 12-hour shifts.
  • Hospitalists will cover Med/Surg & ICU, including ventilator co-management with intensivist, RT, and remote support from Duluth.
  • Current team includes 10 physicians and 2 NPs.
  • Opportunity to teach and precept medical and PA students, with potential for future program leadership.
  • Patient volume: 13-16 patients per day, per hospitalist (rounding and admitting).
  • Average inpatient practice volume per day: Med Surg-50 / ICU-10. Average daily census on unit: 50-60.
  • Facilities include Marilyn Covey Heart & Vascular Center and St. Joseph's Cancer Center.
  • Certified Primary Stroke Center, with co-management with stroke neurology, growing cardiovascular program, and top-performing sepsis care.
  • The Hospitalist team manages codes and rapid responses.
  • No procedures required; general surgery performs central lines.
  • Compensation package includes excellent pay, paid malpractice insurance, relocation assistance, and benefits.
  • Qualifications: BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Hospitalist Residency, or Family Medicine with Hospitalist experience.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • Option to pursue FCCS course for additional critical care education.
