The American Academy of Family Physicians is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join a dedicated team working with hospitalists to care for observation and inpatient hospital patients in Urbana, IL. The role features 12-hour shifts with a mix of day/evening hours and structured weekend/holiday coverage.

Requires a Master’s degree in Nursing (ACNP or FNP) and at least 2 years of NP experience, along with Illinois APRN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and ongoing ED/acute stroke certifications as applicable.

Opportunity Details

• Mostly day / evening (7a-7p) shift hours
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week blocks
• 3 holidays per year

Educational/Experience Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing (ACNP or FNP)
• At least 2 years of NP experience required

Licensure/Certification Requirements

• Current Illinois registered nurse license and advanced practice nurse licensure
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must satisfactorily complete all continuing education including NIH Stroke Scale certification regarding the care of acute stroke patients
